Editorial policy

This page explains where the facts on Sauna City Guide come from, how we check and correct them, and what we will not do. It applies to every listing, city page and guide on the site.

Where our facts come from

We use sources in this order, and we stop as soon as a detail is confirmed:

  1. The place's own website and booking page. Prices, hours, sauna types, temperatures, swimsuit and co-ed rules, minimum age and booking rules come from here whenever the place publishes them.
  2. Other named sources. When the official site is silent, we use city guides, newspapers and similar sources that name the place directly. We prefer local news and official tourism sites over other directories.
  3. Nothing else. If no source covers a detail, we leave it out. A blank field on a listing means we could not confirm it, not that the place does not have it.

Every listing links to the sources it uses, with the month we checked each one.

How we check a listing

Corrections

If something on a listing is wrong, tell us. We check the report against the place's own website or another named source, update the listing and move its "Last checked" date. If we cannot confirm the new detail, we remove the old one rather than leave a figure we no longer trust. We do not hide corrections: the date on the listing always shows when it was last checked.

Health topics

Our guides about sauna, cold plunge and health only describe what published research shows, and they link to the studies. We explain the limits of that research, such as whether a study was observational, and we say who should talk to a doctor first. We do not make medical promises, and nothing on this site is medical advice.

Independence and ads

Who runs the site
