Guss Mobile Sauna
Portland
A wood-fired mobile sauna that parks beside the Willamette, usually at Sellwood Riverfront Park, so bathers can go straight from the heat into the river.
More about Guss Mobile Sauna
Guss runs hour-long drop-in sessions most weekends, mostly at Sellwood Riverfront Park near the dock and sometimes at Willamette Park by the boat ramp. You sweat in the wood-fired sauna, walk down to the Willamette for a plunge, and come back up for another round. Some sessions have a theme, such as meditation, trail runs or women-only hours, and a share of revenue goes to the Human Access Project, which works for river access.
Book ahead, since space is limited, and check which park your time slot uses. Bring a swimsuit, two towels and sandals for the walk to the water. There are no showers on site, sessions run in any weather and drop-ins are for ages 16 and up.
